Educating and mocking AOLers since 1998...whether they liked it or not.

SPECIAL NOTICE:

Well, guys, after three plus years of displaying AOL's failings and its member's stupidity, it's time to pack up, close up, and turn off the lights. Yep, the Realm is going to be shutting down pretty soon, so if there's anything you want to keep for later reference or steal and claim as your own, you better do it soon.
In case you're wondering why, well, there are several reasons. First of all, I'm engaged to an angel, and I'd rather be spending time with her than typing out code. Secondly, time is a factor nowadays, and I just don't have enough of it to dedicate to keeping the site updated the way it should be. I don't use cheesy WYSIWYG website editors, but type the code in Notepad, and that takes time. So, since I have to do the adult thing and prioritize, I have to set this site aside. AOL sucks, most people know it, and those who stubbornly cling to AOL deserve to be there, with all their colorful little cartoons and an interface designed for "special" third grade kids. So, enjoy the site while you can. Not sure when I'm out of here, but it won't be too long.
Cheers.

Latest Additions

I'll make small notations about new stuff here, but since I don't know whether people will view the DHMTL or non-DHTML sites, I can't make direct links. I will include the page that the additions are on, though.

Compare & Contrast - AOL crapware compared to real software? What a slaughter! (New section)
AOL Instant Messenger Chat Rooms - Knight Visits AIM Chats (Articles Section)
AOL's Community Leader Standards - Can a dope fiend be a chat cop? (E-mail section)
AOL's Spel-Cheker - Where "recieve" is better spelled as "trip." (Pictures section)

Email the WITEHOWZE!!!
Fixed!
Sorry, your feelings are invalid.
Visitor's Note: Want to contribute? If you use AOL 6, and want to help me out with my review of AOL's latest version of crap, feel free to send in some screenshots, or put them on a freebie disk site and tell me how to get them. You'll get credit under whatever name you choose and go down in history with fame and glory. (Or at least my gratitude, whichever you'd value more.) Check out Nuggetman's *unedited* submission to the right. Looks like AOL uses its own "spel cheker," and suggests that people send e-mail to the "WhiteHoues." Hey, Steve Case, thanks for showing us AOL's commitment to "edjakation," especially in the realm of spelling!

UPDATE: Looks like AOL may be checking the Realm out. :) Nuggetman, on 2/24/01, sent in a screenshot of the above error corrected. Good job, AOL!! Now just do something about that horrid mess you brazenly call software, and you guys may be respectable in a few decades.

This other submission was sent in by "Heavy Metal" shortly after NASCAR driver, Dale Earnhardt, was killed during a race. Looks like AOL doesn't consider posting condolences about such a tragedy to be important enough to get their crapware right. Take a look and see how "invalid" it is to AOL, if not the fans.

After Dan reviewed my site using different browsers, we found out that IE4 and under doesn't take too well to the DHTML navigation menu. Netscape4 didn't seem to have a problem, aside from the way it screws around with link colors, so I've decided to make two different versions of the site. One version contains the DHTML stuff and the other doesn't. Simple, huh? Simply choose which you wish to visit, and enjoy your stay.
