Why 'anti' AOL?
AOL sucks. That statement, although short and simple, is quite true. Ironically, the world's "largest ISP" is also one of the worst. What makes AOL so pathetic compared to local, or even national ISPs that aren't as 'popular?' The reasons so numerous that there are newsgroups, websites, and songs devoted to mocking Steve Case's little corner of the internet. AOL is a service only in the loosest terminology, as they ignore member requests, haphazardly enforce their Terms of Service, and even publicly insult their members. (See our own KnightHeart's Realm for a quote.)

Who and what is Anti-AOL.org?
This site is a collaborative effort by people who believe that AOL can't truly be called a service in the best sense. This domain exists in order to show AOLers that there are better services, and how to obtain these better services. Contrary to what AOL comercials would like you to believe, AOL is not the Internet. If you'd like to know more about the madmen (and women) who have labored so hard to bring you this information, you might want to check out the About Us page. If that doesn't quite whet your pallet, check out our personal sites which can be located by following the links on the lefthand side of this page.

What can I find here and where can I find it?
Well, expect to find lots of AOL information. We have painstakenly crafted many pages detailing why AOL sucks (including some technical info), conducted interviews with some former AOL employees, and trudged through the news. All of this can be individually located by following the links located just off to the left of this page.
